Windows XP CD Key and Product ID Changer !
1) You need to understand Windows Activation. There are three versions of Wi
ndows XP:
a) Retail (can do a clean installation or upgrade previous OS)
b) OEM (can only do a clean installation, not upgrade)
c) Corporate (can only do a clean installation, not upgrade)
EACH VERSION HAS ITS OWN SET OF SERIAL NUMBERS. For example, you can not in
stall the Retail version with a Corporate serial number, and so on. There is no
difference between the three versions *EXCEPT* that after installing the Retail
or OEM version, the Microsoft Activation Wizard will be enabled, forcing you to
activate Windows. The Coporate version does not have this feature, therefore you
do not have to activate it.
OUR PROGRAM WILL NOT DISABLE ACTIVATION! If you have installed the Retail or OEM
version and want to get around activation, you need to look elsewhere because w
e can't help you.
What this program does is allow you to change your Windows Serial Number, so tha
t means you must have a working serial for *your particular version* of Windows,
and NO you can't change between OEM<>RETAIL<>CORP after you
've installed.
So Why would you want to change the serial number? Because on the Corporate Vers
ion, Microsoft has disalowed the installation of Service Pack 1 (SP1) if
you have used certain serial numbers to install. So if you had another Corporat
e Key, you could change yours to allow the SP1 upgade. Get the idea?
Ok so now that we've explained that, on with the rest of the notes...
2) Don't email us and ask for keys. Our software is 100% legal/l
egitiment to use, and if we gave out CD keys that would throw the whole thing ou
t the window.
3) If you understand the above and are *still* having problems, then please post
them! We want to improve our product and get ideas for new ones.
